Here are some basic guidelines for choosing a team as the next 2 weeks are prime draft days. Keep in mind you take my advice with a grain of salt. I have never won a standard fantasy league but I also have not lost. These are the basic steps, rules and tips for those of you who want to be involved in your office pool but don’t want to face the punishment of losing!
Baseball – MLB: Alonso breaks NL HR record. Acuna’s non-HR gets him benched. Scherzer is back – pun intended. Kimbrel saves the Cubs. Dehydrated Harper.
Basketball: Cousins ACL tear. Nigeria’s FIBA team in trouble. Howard is shopping his options.
Football – NCAA: Week 0 is upon us. College Gameday begins this weekend! Texas RB Benson passed. McCoy fever. Freeze’s infection.
Football – NFL: John Whitaker, the broadcasting legend passes. Metcalf undergoes knee surgery. AB being head strong. Elliott still holding out.
Golf: JT tops the FedEx points again. 1 more week to play. President Cup teams are set. Euro Tour to penalize slow play.
Olympic Sports: Cycling stories.
Baseball – MLB: Giants retire Clark’s #22. Twins and Indians tied in AL Central. Mets 8 game win streak is over. Orioles upset the Astros. Little League World Series Aug 15th – August 24th.
Basketball: Rich Paul Rule for NBA agents.
Football – College: Bama, Duke, Oklahoma players injured. Florida Gator gain a player and lose a player. 12 days until college football season!
Football – NFL: Riddell VSR prohibited. Brady selling his house. New PI reviews in the 1st week of preseason. Steeler’s Drake passes.
Golf: Reed takes the 1st FedEx Cup playoff. Woods pulls out. Merritt ties a record. McIlroy not penalized. PGA is considering penalizing slow players. 2 more tournaments until the season ends.
Olympic Sports: Biles is the GOAT. Mikulak wins 6th US title. US Men’s volleyball to Tokyo. PanAm bowler DQ’d.

Football: NFL Preseason begins this week. Brady to be a Patriot until 2021 at least. Coach’s poll for CFP. TCU kicker injured on a scooter. Auburn gets a 4 star Safety.
Golf: J.T. Poston wins his first PGA title. FedEx Cup Playoffs begin this weekend.
Olympic Sports: Lochte is back in gold fashion style. Messi not coming to ‘Merica. USA vball team to Tokyo.
Baseball – MLB: Orioles historical 16 inning win. Bauer gets mad. Ortiz is home. Scherzer is hurt. Marisnick still suspended.
Football: LSU gets a recruit and losses a felon. UConn to pay for leaving AAC. Pac 12 at 11am?
Golf: Koepka takes his first WGC event. Langer secures his 11th major. Morikawa takes his maiden PGA win. Schedule changes.
