- Simone Biles (duh)
- She is the GOAT of women’s gymnastics. Simone won 4 golds in 2016 Rio and 1 Bronze (balance beam).
- She has the most World medals of any gymnast at 25 (19 Gold) and has 4 moves named after her.
- Vault: Yurchenko half-on, front layout salto with double twist off
- Balance beam: double twisting double tucked salto dismount
- Floor exercise: double layout half out
- Floor exercise: triple twisting double tucked salto
- Results: In one of the most talked about moments in Olympic history, Simone Biles withdrew from almost every event at the Olympics, sparking debate on mental health of elite athletes. She did eventually compete in the Balance Beam and take Bronze. She also earned silver for the team event even though she did not compete.

- Suni Lee
- Her strength is the bars and was 2nd at Nationals. She was a member of the 2019 World Championship team.
- Results: She stunned the world and took the gold in the All Around after Simone backed out. Suni earned a medal of each color also bringing home the silver in the team event and bronze in the Uneven Bars.

- Jordan Chiles
- She is Biles’ training partner and although she has never made a national team, she has put together Top 3 results multiple times this year and on big stages.
- Results: She earned silver in the team event.

- Jade Carey
- She has already qualified for the Olympics in the Vault by performing well in the World Cup series. If the selection committee names her to the 4 member team then they will forfeit a spot.
- Results: She took home gold on the floor exercise and was not part of the silver team.

- Sam Mikulak
- He is the only man with Olympic experience at trials this year. as he was on the 2012 & 2016 Olympic teams. No had no medals as of yet.
- Results: No American men won any medal in Tokyo.

- Brody Malone
- He won Nationals and the NCAAs in the All-Around, making him the front runner to make Team USA.

- She is the oldest competitor in the Tokyo Olympics at age 46. Oksana has been apart of the Olympics since the 1992 Barcelona Games, representing the Soviet Union, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States – former Soviet countries), Unified Team (former Soviet), UZB & GER

- He competed at every Olympics since 2008 Beijing and has 3 gold medals and 4 silver. Kohei is the reigning 2x Olympic Champion in the individual All-Around. He is considered the GOAT of men’s gymnastics.
- Result: His Olympics came to a shocking early end after he failed to qualify for finals.
- Tang Xijing – Team CHN
- Angelina Melnikova – Team RUS
- Missing some people?
- Laurie Hernandez injured her knee??? During a warm up at Nationals and is vying for a spot on the team through the selection process. She did not get it. TBD if we will see her behind the mic like we did during trials or training for future games.
- Chellsie Memmel was a member of the 2008 Olympic team but did not advance past Nationals. The mom of 2 made an impressive run though.
Qualifying
- Team USA:
- Women’s: Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee & Grace McCallum; Jade Carey & MyKayla Skinner will not compete in the team portion but will also be competing wearing the USA uniform.
- Men’s: Brody Malone, Sam Mikulak, Yul Moldauer & Shane Wiskus; Alec Yoder will not compete in the team event but will be wearing the red, white & blue.
