Euro wins Ryder

Golf:

  • Europe won the Ryder Cup in convincing fashion. 17 ½ points to 10 ½ points. After a strong start by the USA, going up 3-1, Europe swept Friday afternoon 4-0 and then proceeded to keep rolling. Francesco Molinari became the first European to go 5-0 at a Ryder Cup, helping Europe to their win.
    • There is a lot of speculation why the Americans did not play well but all the talk today has been around why Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth (who were on fire together in the 2016 Ryder Cup) did not play together. Reed has one story, Spieth has another and the Ryder Cup Captain, Jim Furyk has another. Who knows but it’s too little too late boys.
    • Most of the Americans had never played that course but they better get used to it. Le Golf Nationale is the site for golf at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
  • The 2018/19 golf season starts this weekend at the Safeway Open. On Thurs 10/4 – Sun 10/7 at 4:30pm. No time for breaks!

Soccer

  • Cristiano Ronaldo is being accused of rape in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009. The woman claims that she reported it to the LVPD and that she signed a NDA in 2009. If so that is incriminating evidence against one of the world’s highest paid athletes. More to come.

Ana wins title

Motor Sports

  • Ana Carrasco is the first female to win the Motorbike World Championship. She won by 1 point and dedicated her win to the recently deceased Luis Salom who died after a crash in Moto2 practice in Catalunya.
