Baseball – MLB: World Series coastal battle.
Basketball – NBA: Rocket/Laker suspensions.

Golf: Brooks Koepka #1. Johnny Miller retires to be replaced by Paul Azinger.
Motorsports: MotoGP World Champion is Marc Marquez once again.

Baseball
- The Boston Red Sox are playing the LA Dodgers in a coast-vs-coast war in the World Series, which begins 10/23 – 10/31
- Red Sox have already named their starting pitchers as Chris Sales (to play on Tuesday) and David Price (to play on Wed)
- Reigning champions: Houston Astros
Basketball – NBA:
- The NBA suspended 3 players after a scuffle before the Rockets-Lakers game. Rockets won 124-115
- Lakers forward Brandon Ingram for 4 games
- Lakers guard Rajon Rondo for 3 games
- Rockets guard Chris Paul for 2 games
- Trae Young put up 35 points with 11 assists against the Cavs. That’s the best line by a rookie since Steph Curry himself. The Hawks won 133-111. The Cavs are now 0-3.
- College Basketball returns Tuesday Nov 6th with notable games of Duke vs Kentucky and Kansas vs Michigan St
Football – College:
- 5 teams went down in the Top 25 this week including a huge upset by Purdue who put a beating down on #2. Ohio St to win 49-20. This caused Ohio St to fall to #11. And ICYMI #TylerStrong but before you watch the story, be sure to have the tissues out.
- The Michigan vs Michigan St game loved up to the rivalry. It had everything:a weather delay, snide comments from coaches and some light field vandalism.
- College GameDay is in Gainesville, FL for the #9 Florida vs #7 Georgia game. Time to see if Florida is for real and if Georgia can bounce back after that embarrassing loss to LSU.
- TCU WR and star KaVonte Turpin was arrested Sunday for assault. This was after the scored a 99 yrd kickoff return against the Sooners on Saturday.

Football – NFL:
- The Browns went into OT for what seems like the 50th time this season. It is only the 4th time the Browns have gone in OT but that’s more than half of the regular season games (we just completed week 7). This time they lost to the Buccaneers 26-23.
- 6 games were decided in 7 points or less.
- Ravens lost to the Saints by 1 point after a missed PAT in the last 30 seconds of the game. This was Tucker’s first missed PAT in his 7 yr NFL career.
- Eagles lost to the Panthers 21-17
- Titans lost to the Chargers by 1 point 20-19
- Bears lost to the Patriots by a TD
- Cowboys lost to the Redskins 20-17 after an odd offsides call pushed them out of FG range
Golf:
- Brooks Koepka won the CJ Cup in Korea with 21 under par. This win makes him #1 in the Official World Golf Rankings, displacing Dustin Johnson. Brooks was also voted PGA Tour Player of the Year. This is Brooks’ 12th victory worldwide
- NBC’s Johnny Miller is retiring after 30 years on the job as the leading golf analyst. His replacement is Paul Azinger, PGA Champion in 1993 and 2008 Ryder Cup captain, has been hired to replace him. Miller’s last tournament will be the Waste Management Open in Phoenix. Azinger has been on the air for 10 years with ABC and ESPN.
- Danielle Kang won her second title with the LPGA Shanghai on Sunday by 2 strokes.
Motorsports
- MotoGP competed this weekend in Japan where Marc Marquez solidified his 5th MotoGP World Championship title for Repsol Honda. This is his 7th title overall in the moto series with previous titles in 125cc World Championship in 2010 and the Moto2 Championship in 2012. There are still 3 races left however the point differential makes it impossible for anyone to catch Marquez. This title puts Marquez as T-3rd on the overall MotoGP titles list behind Giacomo Agostini (ITA) and Valentino Rossi (ITA).
Olympic Sports:
- Results of Skate America
- Nathan Chen ran away with the men’s title with a total of 280.57 points, winning by 41 points, the largest winning margin in history. No other Olympic or World Championship medalists were competing.
- You might remember the American from the last Winter Olympics who went in as the favorite with more quads in his routine then fell multiple times but still took 3rd.
- Satoko Miyahara, Japan, won the women’s title over her Japanese teammate, Kaori Sakamoto. Russia’s Sofia Samodurova took the bronze. USA’s Bradie Tennell came in 4th.
- Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue, Americans and reigning champions, won the ice dancing title. Followed by Italy and then Russia in silver and bronze.
- Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, Russia, won the Pair’s title over another Russian couple. USA got bronze.

- USA Cycling CEO Derek Bouchard-Hall will resign at the end of the year
- Tokyo 2020 games have been put on notice that they need to up the number of hotels with more handicap capabilities
- Usain Bolt’s deal with the Mariners is well short of what he would like, at $150k. Bolt reportedly asked for $3MM. TBD if Bolt will take it.
